At Communication Café we provide English educational sessions for children from English-speaking and bilingual families, providing opportunities for the development and use of English skills following British curriculum learning objectives.
Having bilingual children studying in French schools ourselves, we came up with the idea of Communication Café as a way to help our children to develop their English as much as possible. We wanted them to be comfortable with themselves in both French and English environments.
We want to offer to your children the opportunity to learn through different themes (e.g. Celebrating Japan, Prehistoric life, Books!), dipping into Science, Maths, Music, PE, Geography, History, Technology, with an emphasis on providing children with the vocabulary and confidence they need to express their ideas in English.
We provide your child with opportunities to:
- Develop communication skills relevant to age and individual needs. These skills are: knowledge of English sounds, reading & writing, and social skills;
- Have FUN communicating in English with peers;
- Help children find their identity within English-speaking cultures;
- Learn English academic vocabulary, concepts and other language and communication skills;
- Increase their chances of integrating into English-speaking school, university or professional life.
